Why do we call R48 The new standard?

The R48 fastener replaces the R45. Like the R45, the R48 is FM certified. In many cases, the R48 is the ideal fastener because it can be used with all Guardian screws and on all surfaces, thanks to the one solution nose. Of course, the R48 is also available pre-assembled, so that you can do your work even faster. 

The difference between R45 and R48 is that the last mentioned has a larger and thicker hat, so that the R48 delivers better performance in combination with the roofing membranes. This means that the roofer can use larger roofing membranes, which means that he can work faster and have to make fewer welds.
 

Application

The R 48 is suitable for the mechanical fastening of insulation, bitumen-based single/multi-layer or single-layer waterproofing membranes, or polymeric single-layer waterproofing membranes.

As mentioned above, the R48 is compatible with all screws from the Guardian range, including the LBS-8.0. The R48-LN version has been specially designed for this, a fastener with a large nose where the screw fits perfectly and which is also fully compatible with our ASTL's.

Finally

We don't have to explain that mechanical processing of fasteners saves time and makes working ergonomically sound easier. Moreover, you know for sure that every tulle is at the same and correct depth in the roof. The R48 is suitable for mechanical processing, the grommets are fully compatible with our mechanical fastening machines PP260 and the HiPer tool.
Older PP260 machines, however, need to be adapted before they can mount the R48 on the strip without any problems. Please contact us for this.
