Time savings
Thousands of fasteners are quickly installed on a flat roof but there is an action required for every fastener. You get a screw and a metal pressure plate from a box, assemble them and then screw the two into the roof. It may seem like a small operation, but thousands of roof fasteners involve a serious labor investment. In contrast to the screw with metal pressure plate, the tube-screw combination can be supplied pre-assembled so that it can be fixed directly on the roof. So there is an enormous amount of time savings to be made there.
Step security
Guardian's tube-screw combination prevents gaps in the roofing membrane. This chance is more likely with the combination of a screw with a metal pressure plate. Especially now that flat roofs are increasingly being used, such as at solar parks. When the roof covering is pressed in while walking on the roof, a screw attached directly under the roofing membrane can penetrate the roof covering. The (expensive) consequence? Leaks. With the tube-screw combination, this isn't a problem, because the screw can move freely in the tube before the screw reaches the roofing membrane.
Pricing
At first glance, the screw with metal pressure plate appears to be a cheap solution. Yet this is not always the case. Certainly now that buildings have to be better insulated and roof structures are becoming thicker, a tube-screw combination is cheaper. Steel is more expensive than plastic, especially when the length of the screw increases. The biggest cost advantage, however, is in the hours you spend as a roofer (see the heading: time savings).
