Sustainability and cost efficiency. Concepts that are becoming more and more meaningful for everyone. Even though the roofing sector is a traditional industry, we try to offer innovative solutions for everyone. This has advantages, also for you as a roofer. Many developments focus on time savings. For example, Guardian has developed the GuardianWeld. An innovative induction welding machine that can be used to fasten roofing membranes quickly and ergonomically.

The welding of roofing membranes

GuardianWeld is a welding machine with which plastic roofing membranes can be fastened by means of induction. With a specially developed pressure plate you secure the insulation to the substrate. Possibly in combination with a tube that ensures the reduction of the thermal bridge. The roofing membrane is then laid over. The GuardianWeld pressure plate is provided with a special coating (for TPO, PVC or EPDM). The pressure plate is heated by induction, which activates the coating and creates the fixing on the roofing membrane. After welding, a magnet is placed on the pressure plate. The magnet provides extra pressure on the weld and ensures rapid cooling.

Why use an induction welding machine

As a roofer of large roofs, ofcourse you want to work as efficiently as possible. With the GuardianWeld you save on working time and material. The big advantage of fastening with the GuardianWeld system is that you can use very wide roofing membranes. In addition, you can fasten roofing membrane and insulation at the same time. This not only reduces the number of fastening points, but it also saves you a lot of glue.

The benefits of the GuardianWeld

  • Time and cost savings
  • Very accurate, which means it can also be used on all types of PIR insulation boards
  • Easy to move due to the low weight
  • Fewer and smaller overlapping roof membranes
  • For large and small projects
  • Less weather dependent
  • Ergonomically responsible
