Liѐge Expo in Luik, België

Right in the heart of Liège, near the historical centre, the modern exhibition centre Liège Expo has opened. No less than 15,000 fully customisable square metres are available for every thinkable event.

The building consists of five halls of different sizes and offers several multi-purpose rooms for references and meetings. From the large square in front of the entrance, the impressive building can be viewed in all its glory and that is definitely worth it.

Guardian, in collaboration with SFS Benelux, had the honor of supplying the mounting material for both the flat roof and the wall panels of this modern building.

Wind load Calculation

Due to the height differences between the various roof surfaces, no fewer than 22 wind load calculations have been created. This guarantees that each roof section is provided with a perfectly suitable fastener pattern.

Flat roof

Some parts of the roof were mechanically fixed in chipboard. The remaining parts of the roof are steel roofs in varying thicknesses, ranging from 0.75 mm to 1.25 mm.

Industrial steel deck

For the industrial steel roof, profiled steel sheet 3.280.153 was used. This was fixed with Hilti nail guns and for the overlap SL2-S 4.8 x 22 mm Inox bi-metal screws were used.

Facade

Some parts of the roof were mechanically fixed in chipboard. The remaining parts of the roof are steel roofs in varying thicknesses, ranging from 0.75 mm to 1.25 mm.
